we are striving for diversity of thought. It’s time to move beyond static demographics. It’s not about the way you look or who you’re interested in. It’s about who you are as a person, your opinions, your ideas and your character. It’s about your life experiences that shaped you to be the beautifully unique person you are today.

 

equity

we are trying to level the playing field. We want to make sure that everyone has equal opportunity and is fairly treated, while eliminating barriers that have excluded groups of people in the past.

 

belonging

we want our people to feel and know that they are valued. People should wake up and know that they have a purpose. It is our job as a company to nourish growth in our people and challenge them everyday so that they will can become the best person they can be. To put quite simply, we want our people to feel like they belong here and are exactly where they need to be.

 

inclusion

inclusion is creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed. It is making sure that everyone is respected and the ability to have their voice be heard. Inclusion is giving our people the opportunity to flourish. It is asking everyone in the room to participate and ask their opinion. The biggest failure and disservice to your company and your people is when there’s a meeting and someone is not participating. They could’ve had the answer that we were all searching for.

a message from our CEO

We are all human beings. Debi is about what we do, not who we are. It shouldn’t matter what you look like, your interests or how you identify. What should matter is your character and your ethics. People require empathy and understanding of inherent bias. By raising consciousness, we reduce bias.

We need to commit to being consciously unbiased in order to let what truly matters shine. We need to give every human the opportunity to thrive and grow.

As a millennial I’m very excited to be able to witness this historic time period. Just look at the #metoo movement and the backing behind Time's Up. Debi is as much lifestyle as it is culture and behavior. We all need to do our part in a functioning civil society.

If we want to make a difference and change, we need to change the way organizations handle culture. Debi is a new, innovative approach to a more inclusive and diverse culture. It puts diversity and inclusion in the hands of managers of people and not in some abstract notion, but day-to-day.
